The garden is the area of or near the home in which the activity known as gardening take place. Yes, we are focussing, in this section, mostly on gardens associated with homes rather than on institional gardens, industrial gardens, park gardens or nature preserves. This section is about the place where gardening is done (the garden itself) rather than the activity (gardening) that customarily takes place in the garden.

My garden is at my country home in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, which unfortunately I have not been able to visit for literally years. It is thus a fallow garden right now, although I think some of my herbs, such as thyme, rosemary and sage, are well enough established that they should still be there despite the encroachment of the inevitable masses of weeds.

Gardens are such a wide field that it is hard to know what kind of categories to use to separate the garden section into manageable and relevant chunks, but possibly one useful division might be to distinguish a kitchen garden from a decorative garden or a purely horticultural garden (flower garden).
