Artists are people who make art. As there are various varities of art so there are also corresponding types or designations of artist. Such varieties include painters, writers, musicians, singers, sculptors, actors and so on, getting more and more specific down to which specific instruments (tools) they typically use in producing their art. There are of course many more artists in the world than we can list here, and keeping a thorough database of artists up to date would be a massive task.
