Activities: Games: Kingdoms MUD

I have been playing Kingdoms Multi-User Dungeon since some time back in the mid nineteen-nineties.

I played Thoth, an Adventurer, with my buddy Booner, who at first also went for Adventurer. Eventually though Booner went into the Knight profession and eventually became a Wizard. Thoth continued to try to get by as an Adventurer.

More recently, after all of my characters had expired, I recreated Thoth, still as an Adventurer, along with an 'extended family' of characters including his 'nephews' Korik the Fighter and young Coric the Knight, and 'niece' Kore the Witch. (Note that the profession of Witch in Kingdoms is NOT based on Wicca! Rather, it is the classic evil ugly old hag stereotype.

I remember years ago when players wanted to be able to advance to levels higher than the then-maximum, which was level 19. For that purpose, so called "Mortal Lords" were invented: levels 20 through 50. It was not until after my characters had expired and I had come back with the new character Korik the Fighter that I advanced any of my characters into the Mortal Lord levels. Previously I think I had gotten Thoth the Adventurer to about level 17 or so. Korik was thus my first character to become a Mortal Lord. Later, Kore also became one: presumably a Mortal Lady. :)
